The RZ1MZ1-K is widely used within the Oil, Gas & Petrochemical, and Distribution and Power Network industries. Known commonly as a green SWA because of the colour of the outer sheath, it is insulated and sheathed in a halogen free thermoplastic polyolefin material. This makes the cable suitable for installations where the general public or sensitive equipment would be subjected to risk from toxic fumes and smoke emissions in the event of fire. It meets the requirements of EN 50267.
It has a galvanised steel wire armour for mechanical protection, making it suitable for internal and external installations, including those for direct burial. The flexible stranded Copper conductors are restricted by the armour, but when stripped and prepared for termination, it can support challenging installation routing.
RZ1MZ1-K has a temperature rating of -40oC to +90oC.
